Boulder, Colorado: Gorgeous Panorama Views on Bear Peak

Remember when I attempted to climb up Bear Peak last year and didn’t make it because I ran out of time? Well, on July 4 I returned. What a fabulous hike. The views at the top were terrific in all directions and there was no crazy “male energy” guy this time. I also realized that there was no way I would have made it last time because I still had the steepest section ahead of me (and the whole hike was steep). That hike kicked my butt and I couldn’t go down the stairs properly for a few days. 2,673 feet of elevation gain in a little more than 5 miles. All worth the pain. Don’t miss the panorama video.

At the trailhead. Always a pleasure to see the flatirons. I immediately turned left. Am Anfang des Wanderwegs. Immer wieder schön, die Flatirons zu sehen. Sofort ging es links ab.

I paused to look at this gorgeous feather. Ich blieb kurz stehen und schaute mir diese wunderschöne Feder an.

The so-called Nebel Horn, spelled as two words. Das sogenannte Nebel Horn, als zwei Wörter geschrieben.

Ah, the green. So good. Ah, das Grün. So gut.

Wisst ihr noch, als ich versuchte, letztes Jahr auf den Gipfel von Bear Peak zu klettern und mir dann die Zeit ausging? Nun gut, am 4. Juli kam ich zurück. Was für eine tolle Wanderung. Die Aussicht von oben war in alle Richtungen herrlich und diesmal gab es keinen Bekloppten mit „male energy” (männliche Energie). Mir wurde auch klar, dass ich es auf keinen Fall geschafft hätte, denn ich hatte den steilsten Teil noch vor mir (und die ganze Wanderung war steil). Meine Fresse, sag ich da nur, denn ich konnte ein paar Tage lang nicht gescheit die Treppe runtergehen. 815 Höhenmeter bei ca. 13 km. Die Schmerzen lohnten sich. Verpasst nicht das Panorama-Video.

I turned the rocks around to read these messages. Wonder who that was? Ich drehte diese Steine rum, um diese Zeilen zu lesen. Wer das wohl war?

The Boulder side. Again, much more green than usual. Die Boulderseite. Ich kann es nicht oft genug sagen: Viel grüner als sonst.
